  if i throw a ball  of 1kg  with  20n force  upward  what hight if will gain (take g as 10 )

f = mxa so 20 = 1xa  so  a= 20m/s^2

the resultant accn =  20-g = 20-10 = 10m/s^2  now v=o and u =?  .....THE  QUESTION  IS  INCOMPLETE  TIME  NOT  GIVEN  !!!!!!!

 yup, you must give the time in which that force is applied. or u hav to change the force to impulse. Say u r applying a impulse of 20Nm upward.
then you can easily solve it using  Fdt= dP
